Geneva School of Boerne senior standout Maegan Riebel had a week to remember, averaging an impressive 35 points, 6 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 3.5 steals in a perfect 2-0 stretch for the Eagles.
The Eagles beat Schertz John Paul II, 75-19 and then crushed Holy Cross, 87-19.
Geneva is 12-3 overall and was at NB Christian Academy Tuesday and then hosts Incarnate Word Thursday.
Riebel’s stellar performances not only helped Geneva remain undefeated in district play but also etched her name in the school record books.
In Geneva’s district opener, Riebel showcased her playmaking ability with a 27-point, 10-assist and 6-rebound effort to secure a commanding victory over Schertz JPII.
Riebel followed up that strong showing with a historic night, dropping in 43 points and dishing out 5 assists in a dominant win over Holy Cross.
In the process, Riebel surpassed the coveted 2,000-career-point milestone, solidifying her legacy as one of the most prolific scorers in Geneva girls basketball history.
With Riebel leading the charge, the Eagles now sit at 2-0 in district play and are poised for a strong run in the postseason.
“Maegan’s leadership on and off the court continues to elevate our program,” Eagles coach Aamir McCleary said. “This week was a testament to her hard work and dedication. She’s putting Geneva basketball on the map.”
