Boerne Champion’s Elizabeth Leachman is now a two-time Foot Locker national champion after she won Saturday’s 2024 National Finals race in San Diego, California.

Leachman defended the 2023 title she won last year after she posted a time of 17:31.1 Saturday at Balboa Park for back-to-back titles.

Leachman edged out Victoria Garces from Michigan, who posted a 17:39.9 for second.

Garces finished one spot ahead of Leachman at last week’s Nike Cross Nationals to take second by less than a second, but Leachman overtook Garces in Saturday’s race and won in convincing fashion.

Leachman won last year’s Foot Locker title with a time of 16:50.7.
