Robert Francis Alford

October 31, 1950 – March 31, 2022

Robert (Bob) Francis Alford of Boerne, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on March 31, 2022. He was 71. He leaves behind his forever devoted wife of 30 years, Elizabeth Rosebury Alford of Boerne, Texas; his daughter, Cecily Goodell Worthy (and husband Chris) of Dallas, Texas; his son, Robert McElroy Goodell (wife Marcela) and grandson James Alford Goodell of Playa Grande, Costa Rica; brothers Bruce Guy Alford, son Dr. James Alford (wife Claudia) and children Charles, Beau and John (wife Lindsey), William Raymond Alford (wife Jan) and daughter Heather Ann Cain (husband Jason); nieces Klohe and Emma Lynn Hoover and William R. Alford ll (wife Dawn) and children Nathan and Ryan.

Born October 31, 1950, to parents Blair E. Alford and Jane G. Snowman Alford, Bob spent his childhood in Michigan and served in the United States Air Force from 1971 to 1975. In 1979, he moved to Dallas, Texas, to start his lifelong dream of having his own company, Amtech Roofing Consultants.

With help and support of lifelong friends and plenty of hard work, Bob grew the company into one of the most successful roofing consultant firms in the country before finally selling the business in 2015 and moving to Boerne in 2017.

Forever busy, in retirement Bob pursued another of his dreams and built a woodworking studio on his new homestead called Studio Red (Retired and Extremely Dangerous), where he honed his talents using his father’s vintage woodworking machines and tools, creating some incredible pieces of custom furniture and art.

A lover of all aspects of aviation, he was a wing leader for the Commemorative Air Force in 2000-05. Bob also served as a board member and chairman of The Wings Over Houston Airshow for five years and participated in Reno air races.

He was a man of unshakable conviction. “Papi” was also a dedicated family man of integrity and honor. His infectious personality and piercing blue eyes will be missed.

A memorial service in his honor will be held at Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort, 1 Resort Way, Boerne, Texas 78006 on Friday, April 22, 2022, from 1 to 4 p.m.
