The Geneva School of Boerne had several volleyball players earn postseason awards for their play during the 2024 season, which ended with a trip to the 4A TAPPS state tournament.
Geneva finished second in the state this year after they lost to Lubbock Christian School in the finals in straight sets at the state tourney in Waco.
At state, Kate Friesenhahn, Lily Flora, Ella Owens and Emerson Myrick were all named to the all-tournament team.
Also, Owens was selected to the TAPPS 4A All-State First Team and Myrick landed on the TAPPS 4A All-State Second Team.
In district play, Friesenhahn, Owens and Myrick were named firstteam all-district, Flora and Kendall Sehlke were named to the second team and Sopris Oglesby and Maggie Deimund were recognized as honorable mention.
This year’s team was coached by Tami Owens, who has led the team to the state tournament four times and won two state titles.
Geneva finished the season at 19-8 overall and won district this year with an 11-1 mark.
