While the Greyhound football team was defeating Corpus Christi Miller Friday night in the Alamodome, the Boerne boys basketball squad was taking care of business Friday at home against O’Connor.
BHS pounced on the Panthers, 41-38, in Friday’s non-district contest and bumped its record to 9-4.
The Greyhounds continued district play Tuesday at home against Smithson Valley and then take a short drive down the road and visit Boerne Champion Saturday at 2 p.m. for a district contest in their first-ever meeting.
Boerne had two finish in double digits after Casen Hoegemeyer tallied 15 points and Nic Hernandez netted a baker’s dozen with 13 points.
Julien Hartman scored 6, Noa Sanchez added 5 and Slade Salinas netted 2.
Hoegemeyer also led the Hounds on the board with 7 rebounds and had a block, Salinas snagged 6 boards, Hernandez and Cash McPeak both pulled down 4 rebounds, Salinas dished out 2 assists and came up with 3 steals, while Hernandez also recorded 3 steals.
