Geneva girls at Brentwood basketball tourney

The Geneva School of Boerne girls basketball team was entered in the Brentwood Christian tournament and played some stiff competition and finished with a 2-2 mark.

Geneva is 10-3 overall and visited Schertz John Paull II Tuesday to open district action. They host Holy Cross Friday as they continue league play.

At the tourney, the Eagles won their first and last games and dropped the middle two.

Geneva opened with an 88-26 victory over Lutheran South Academy and later that day fell to Savio in a close one, 57-55.

The Eagles returned on Friday and suffered a 64-51 defeat to St. Pius before closing it out the next day against TMI – Episcopal with a dominant 64-13 win. Maegan Riebel averaged 23.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 5.2 assists through five games last week, and posted two double-doubles. She had 24 points and 11 assists vs. Lutheran South Academy and dropped in 15 points and came up with 10 steals vs. TMI.

Against Lutheran South, Kyra Petty posted 26 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals.
