BOERNE — This holiday season, Boerne Community Theatre brings the time-honored magic of Dickens classic “A Christmas Carol” to life in an uproarious and festive theater experience for the whole family.

“Ebenezer Scrooge’s Big Boerne Christmas Show,” written by Gordon Greenberg and Steve Rosen, is an 85-minute comedic adaptation of the classic holiday tale featuring five actors and a minimalist set.

Audiences will enjoy all their old favorites — the curmudgeonly Ebenezer, three ghostly visitors, and the ever-precocious Tiny Tim — reimagined in a whole new way, and all set in “wintry” Boerne.

There are references to local Boerne landmarks sprinkled throughout the show, including the gazebo in downtown Boerne, and the ducks on River Road.

Directed by Jerry Watson and assistant directed by Robin Cunningham, the cast highlights Allen Rudolph as Scrooge and the talented ensemble cast features local actors James Augustine, Terry Smelker, Susan McWilliams and Kendall Poole. Crew members include Paul Peterson as stage manager, Cori Smelker, Denise Fortenberry and Kimberly Stoner as crew, and David Clingan on lights and sound.

“I’ve had a great time helping bring ‘Ebenezer Scrooge’s Big Boerne Christmas Show’ to life, and I’m very proud of this cast and crew,” Cunningham said. “I truly feel that this show will be very entertaining to our Boerne audiences, and I sincerely hope theatergoers in the area will consider making BCT a regular part of their holiday season celebrations.”

Ebenezer Scrooge’s Big Boerne Christmas Show runs through Dec. 15 with Friday and Saturday shows at 8 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m. There will be one Thursday evening show, 7:30 p.m. Dec. 12.

Tickets can be purchased at https://boernetheatre. org/tickets or reserved by calling the box office at 830-249-9166.
