CELEBRATING THE ARTS
Make time today, Dec. 7, to be a part of “A Down Home Christmas” at The AgriCultural Museum, 102 City Park Road in Boerne.
From noon until 4 p.m., enjoy professional photo ops with Santa beside a great big beautiful tractor, antique tractor hayrides, decorating cookies and Christmas tree ornaments and a petting zoo.
Enjoy hot cocoa, Christmas craft shopping, Bluegrass music, see a working blacksmith in action, peruse our latest donation of an antique toy tractor collection, a candy-filled stocking for every child, face painting, popcorn and more! $10 donation per person appreciated.
Beginning our third decade, Hill Country Council for the Arts is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting arts and culture in Boerne, Kendall County and extends through Arts Partners in the several counties of Hill Country.
We strive to demonstrate how art transforms communities. Working in partnership with the city through the Heath Public Library, the Hill Country Mile, and Parks and Recreation, as well as the Boerne Chamber and Visit Boerne, community groups and other nonprofit organizations, we work to elevate our “arts ecosystem,” expanding and creating opportunities for diverse artistic expression and bringing our community together through programming and events that celebrate our heritage.
We aim to inspire and connect people to places, and to each other, through the arts and art experiences. We invest in local artists and cultural producers as the wellspring of our community’s power to imagine, grow and thrive.
We provide resources where possible to artists and arts organizations that transform the community.
Our partnership with The Agricultural Museum and Arts Center is providing a source of additional offerings in both the arts and heritage, offering our community a gathering place for family activities and continuing education. The addition of a third partner, Girl with Grit, adds a third branch to the “family tree” that strengthens our hope in the promise for the future.
