Library sponsors Festival of Trees Dec.

2-7

THE BOOKWORM WORM

Festival of Trees

The Festival of Trees features fully decorated Christmas trees, wreaths and other holiday decorations generously donated by local individuals, civic groups or businesses. These decorations are greatly enjoyed by library staff and visitors alike as they light up and create a magical atmosphere in the lobby.

The items will be on display and available for auction online Dec. 2-7. If you would like to help sponsor one of these wonderful items, contact Leah at [email protected].

On Dec. 2 from noon to 3 p.m. stop by the library with your little ones to get a picture with Santa and enjoy the Christmas ambiance. In addition to pictures with Santa, have your child bring in their favorite stuffie to be a part of our Stuffie Sleepover.

To be a part of this fun event, drop off your child’s special stuffie from Dec. 2-5. The stuffies will spend the night at the library and have their own exciting night filled with merriment and mischief. Get a sneak peek of what the stuffies were up to with no people around to watch them as we post pictures of all the stuffies’ silly antics.

Lastly, don’t forget to come back and pick up your stuffies.

Youth programs holiday break

During the busy holiday season, from Dec. 23-Jan. 12 the youth department will be taking a break from our weekly programs. We will resume Storytimes and other regular programs on Jan. 12.

Holiday fun includes I-Spy

During the Dec. 23-Jan. 12 holiday break there will be an I-Spy game going on in the Youth Department.

To participate, children can use their seeking skills to find the little elf hidden somewhere in the Youth Department. If you spy the elf, come tell us and receive a fun prize.

In addition to I-Spy, children will get a chance to write a letter to their favorite friend from the North Pole. Come into the library in December before Christmas to get the chance to write to Santa and put it in our magic mailbox.

Before we send the letters up to the North Pole in time for Christmas, we will draw a lucky letter out of the magic mailbox. The writer of the letter will receive a fun Christmas-themed gift basket full of fabulous goodies.

Seasonal story, cookie decorating On Nov. 29 at 11 a.m., join Mrs. Constance at Salty and Sweet on Main Street for a fun seasonal treat. The program will begin with a seasonal story to capture your imagination. Afterward, we will put your creative spirit to the test with some delicious cookie decorating. Come for this fun event and stay for Dickens on Main later in the day.
