The Boerne High girls basketball team was facing the Lady Bulldogs from Burbank for the second time in less than a week.

Boerne had seen Burbank at the SAISD tourney on Nov. 15, and then hosted the Lady Bulldogs this past Tuesday and the Lady Hounds captured both games.

At the tourney, Boerne won, 59-34, and on Tuesday, the Lady Hounds beat the Bulldogs, 80-19.

The 80 points is the most Boerne has scored this year and the 19 is the fewest they’ve given up so far.

BHS is 5-4 this year and opened district action Friday by hosting Wagner. The team is at Kerrville Tuesday before Thanksgiving for an 11:30 a.m. game.

On Tuesday, the Lady Greyhounds raced out to a fast start and were leading 15-2 at the end of the first quarter. Boerne turned in strong second and third quarters as well and tallied 24 in the second and 25 in the third.

Boerne won the second, 24-6, and was up at halftime, 39-8. They owned the third quarter, 25-4, and opened up a 64-12 advantage by the time the game rolled to the fourth quarter.

In the final stanza, the Lady Hounds close it out with a 16-7 quarter.

Boerne won the two middle quarters by a combined score of 49-10 and that’s when Chloe Donnell did all her damage after she drained five 3-pointers and finished with 18 points in the game.

Boerne shot it well from the outside and knocked in a baker’s dozen from the 3-point line after they hit 13 of them.

Savannah Salinas had a 3 and tallied 13 points, while Oleyvia Ramos scored 8 in the third and totaled 13 points in the game as well.

Meredith Mcleod hit a 3 and finished with 9 points, Addison Saur nailed a couple of 3s and scored 8 points, while Hartlee Menn sank a couple of 3s and netted 8 points, JT Hernandez netted 5 points, while Jenna Ruede and Melia Gonzales both hit a 3 to finish with 3 points apiece.
