The Boerne Champion boys suffered their first loss of the 2024 boys basketball season after the Chargers were defeated by the Chargers of Churchill Tuesday in San Antonio.
Churchill won Tuesday’s contest, 62-49, and the loss leaves Champion at 6-1. The Chargers host Somerset Tuesday at 1 p.m.
Champion only had one player in double figures Tuesday but three were close. Gavin Peck had team-high honors with 10 points, while Nik Georgelos, Kristian Herrera and Logan Scott all netted 8.
Noa Basco finished with 6 points, Baeden Burdick scored 4, Kane Lonsdale recorded 3 points and Alex Ross had 2.
Burdick grabbed 7 rebounds and dished out 3 assists, Scott snagged 5 rebounds and had 2 assists, while Peck also distributed 2 assists.
