The Geneva School of Boerne girls basketball team welcomed Veterans Memorial Tuesday in a non-district game and defeated the Patriots, 69-41.
Geneva stayed perfect on the year at 4-0 after Tuesday’s win and is entered in the Cornerstone tournament this weekend.
The Eagles rushed out to an 11-0 lead before the Patriots could get on the board with a 3-pointer to make it 11-3 midway through the opening period.
Geneva kept rolling and took a 37-18 advantage into halftime before outscoring the Patriots in the second half, 32-23, to wrap up the win.
The Eagles had three finish in double figures and were paced by Maegan Riebel, who tallied 23 points on 10 of 20 shooting from the field.
Kyra Petty went 7 for 10 from the field for 70 percent shooting and netted 15 points, while Madeline Egbert drained three 3-pointers for 60 percent shooting beyond the arch and tallied 13 points.
Morgan Howard added 8 points, Sopris Oglesby and Grace Detterick both chipped in with 4 points and Reese Smith hit for 2.
Petty grabbed 7 rebounds, Riebel and Howard both snagged 6 boards, while Riebel dished out 5 assists and Egbert came up with 6 steals.
