Thiele competes for Comfort at state meet

ROUND ROCK – Comfort’s Ella Thiele was the school’s lone representative at last Saturday’s 3A cross country meet at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.

Thiele was hoping for a top-30 finish and ran a strong race after she finished 34th at the event with a personal- best time of 12:30.30 in the field of 100 runners.

This is Thiele’s second year in a row to run at state where the 3A girls run a two-mile course.

Holliday won the team event (28), East Bernard (48) and Dalhart (104) captured the top three spots, while Sophia Bendet of Randolph topped the field in the individual portion with a 10:40.40 for gold. Her teammate Aubrey Milam was third (11.21.80) and Kenli Atwood (11:04.30) of Holliday took third for bronze.
