Prominent national and state races continue to bring Kendall County voters to the polls in record numbers, and Tuesday was expected to be no different.
Voters could cast ballots at any of 11 different polling sites in the county on Election Day Tuesday.
Prominent on the ballot is the presidential race between Republican former President Donald Trump and Democrat Vice President Kamala Harris. Also attracting voter attention is the U.S. Senate race between Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and U.S. Rep. Collin Allred (D-Texas) and Libertarian Ted Brown. Incumbent U.S. House Dist. 21 Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) was being opposed by Democratic challenger Kristin Hook and Libertarian Bob King. Locally, seven of eight races featured incumbents running unopposed. On the ballot are Kendall County Sheriff Al Auxier, Tax Assessor/Collector James Hudson, Precinct 3 County Commissioner Richard Chapman, and all four county constables — Todd Setliff, Precinct 1; Paul Knoll, Precinct 2; Gene Serene, Precinct 3; and Brian Vaughn, Precinct 4.
Kendall County Precinct 1 Commission candidate Jennifer McCall won the Republican primary in March. She is being opposed by a write-in candidate, Thomas Richardson.
Early voting turnout topped 62% in Kendall County.
Friday, Nov. 1’s final day of early balloting saw 1,709 voters turn out, contributing to the 24,258 voters the Kendall County Elections Department logged during the 12-day stretch, 62.27% of the county’s 38,959 registered voters.
