Debra Lynn Box
November 29, 1961 – March 29, 2022
Debra Lynn Box, born November 29, 1961, to Richard D. Young and Sandra Young, in Omaha, Nebraska, passed away on March 29, 2022, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 60. Debra is preceded in death by her parents, Richard D. Young and Sandra Young.
She is survived by her sons, Casey and Brandon Box; her brothers, Mark (Debbie) Young and Barry (Janell) Young; her uncles, James and Edgar Young; aunt Karen Pulscher; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was fiercely protective of those she loved. If she cared for you she would defend you at all costs. She took great pride in being in the corner of those she cared about.
Later in her life, after having been a housewife and mom, she started a new career at Albany International, a job she stayed at for years until retiring. She took great pride and joy in excelling and learning each new task given to her either in her work life or personal life.
She took strength from being outside surrounded by loved ones and her animals. She often remarked that if she had the space and the time she would take in every animal that needed a home and love. She spent much of her free time in her garden. This love of gardening and growing plants and flowers having been passed down to her and her brothers by their father Richard.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to a charity near to your heart.
There will be a memorial/celebration of life on April 16 at 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Cibolo Nature Center at 140 City Park Road. The family invites anyone who knew her to stop by and pay their respects.
