Crestmont Christian volleyball, cross country teams in action recently

On Sept. 24, Crestmont Christian Prep put their 2-game win streak on the line against Boerne Area Christian Homeschoolers. That two-game win streak was a season high for the Warriors, having previously beaten NB Thunder on the road and Gloria Deo at home.

With the Crestmont basketball yelling in support of their volleyball team, the atmosphere was the most electric of the season. BACH jumped out to an early lead, taking the first set 25-23.

The Warriors came roaring back, winning the second set 25-16, and taking the final set in a tight 19-17 classic.

Sophomore Krissa Keller and freshman Lily Ruth Lanier led the way on the serving line. Senior Bella Parkinson anchored the best defensive effort of the season. Senior Faith Hill led the offense for two of their best performances of the season, and the Warriors defeated BACH, 2-1.

Crestmont took their season- best 3-game win streak into Senior Night on Sept. 27, playing host to Founders Classical Academy in Schertz.

It was an emotional afternoon as the Warriors celebrated Hill and Parkinson in their final regular-season games as Warriors. But Founders would defeat the Warriors 25-22 and 25-23, to win the match.

The Warriors finished their season back with a high school volleyball team with a 6-9 mark and sent two seniors off with pride and joy.

Crestmont Volleyball was back in action at the TAIAO South Regional Playoff Tournament Oct. 11-12 at the San Antonio Force Sports Center.

Crestmont X-Country

Crestmont’s freshman cross country runner Peyton Blyth has been hotter than the sun and burning up the trail.

On Sept. 28, he ran to a 7th-place showing in the boys gold division at the 3rd annual Antler River Run, with a time of 16:59.

On Oct. 5, Blyth hit trail at the San Antonio Christian School Cross Country Invitational, placing 6th with a 5k time of 17:15. Unlike at the SA Patriots meet at the beginning of the season, there were no issues forgetting Blyth’s timing bib.

Blyth and the Crestmont Cross Country team will be back at it on Oct. 19 at the Faith Academy Cross Country Invitational in Marble Falls, followed by the TAIAO State Cross Country meet on Oct. 26.
