The Boerne High volleyball team took care of business Tuesday with a three-set sweep over Veterans Memorial. BHS posted a 25-18, 25-18, 25-15 victory over the Lady Patriots. The Lady Greyhounds are 5-6 in district and 20-11 overall.
They hosted Smithson Valley Friday and then makes the short drive to Champion on Tuesday to face the Lady Chargers.
Boerne is sitting at sixth place in the district and had five matches left on the schedule heading into Friday. The Lady Hounds need to finish in the top four in order to make the playoffs.
Kaylie Bourn finished with 6 kills, while Paige Stegall, Ava Rocchio and Bella Pettet all tallied 5 kills.
The Lady Hounds served it well and dropped in 17 aces and were led in that department by Lauren Magnus with 7 of them, Holly Reeder added 5 aces and Bourn had 2 aces, while Presley Mullins, Calynn Ramos and Pettet recorded one ace apiece.
Ava Rocchio and Bourn came up with 5 blocks apiece, Magnus and Pettet totaled 6 digs each and Haley Wheeler had 4 digs, while Magnus recorded 12 assists and Ramos finished with 8 assists.
