MixHaus Gallery “disturbances” artists Kari Englehart, Nate Cassie and Parker Duke will talk about their participation in the showing at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13 at MixHaus, 716 High St. in Comfort.
This is a perfect opportunity to visit the gallery and enjoy an engaging artist talk and conversation with the artists as they share insights about their respective bodies of work and what impelled this collaboration.
Feel free to submit any questions in advance by emailing them to [email protected] so they can be shared with Kari and G ART
Nate. Light refreshments will be served.
Englehart is a mixed media artist with an emphasis on the encaustic process. Her work investigates human interactions in the natural world. Currently, her work is a dialogue between found machinery and adopted imagined botanical species.
Cassie is a conceptual artist not tied to any specific medium, style or method. His practice includes sculpture, painting, drawing, printmaking, video and photography.
One unifying theme is an exploration of the spaces in between — between ordinary and wonder, between the object and reflection, between the artist and audience — the space in between the everyday and the extraordinary. Currently his work includes the exploration of vernacular beauty in functional ceramics and furniture that connect groups and communities.
Duke is an audio and visual artist focusing on breathing new life into forgotten music and film. Raised in San Antonio, he relocated to Fort Davis in 2020 and works as a telescope operator and instrument specialist at the McDonald Observatory.
