The Boerne Champion softball snapped its threegame district skid after the Lady Chargers picked up a road win at Alamo Heights on Tuesday.
Champion beat the Mules in six innings, 12-1, and improved to 10-8-1 overall and 6-5 in district. The Chargers host Veterans Memorial on Friday.
Champion scored in bunches and plated 5 runs in the second, the first three on a Madison Hall three-run homer.
The Chargers added 2 in the fifth and then punched in 5 more runs in the top of the sixth, while the Mules scored its only run in the bottom of the fourth.
Hall finished with 4 RBI, 3 on her homer and scored 2 runs and took 2 walks, Ashley Ottmers hit 2 doubles and a single, pushed in 3 runs and scored twice, Riley Murrish hit 2 singles and picked up 2 RBI, Gabi Vela had an RBI single, Ava Trevino scored a run, Lily Ritchie doubled, scored 3 runs, walked 3 times and had an RBI, while Finley Shanley and Jaycee Bendele both scored 2 runs.
Carmen Vela went all 6 innings and gave up 3 hits and 1 run, while striking out 11 and walking 3.
