The Geneva School of Boerne softball team hosted St. Anthony in a doubleheader Tuesday in Boerne.
Geneva won the first game, but St. Anthony took the second game for the split. The Eagles are 3-6 overall and host TMI – Episcopal on Friday, 4:30 p.m.
After playing at Boerne City Park for several seasons, Geneva recently completed construction of its own softball field on the school grounds. They still don’t have lights so they play all their home games in the afternoon.
On Tuesday, the first game started at 2:30 p.m. and the Eagles won 12-2. Maggie Chisholm went 3 for 3 with a triple and two singles; Sydney Griffey went 3 for 4 with two doubles and a triple; Maddie Egbert added a triple in the 3rd; while Avery Myrick took the win in the circle for the Eagles. St. Anthony turned the table on the Eagles in the second game and defeated Geneva, 17-6. KK Chisholm went 3 for 3 with two singles and a triple; Alexa Elizondo had a triple in the 3rd, and Avery Myrick hit a solo home run in the 6th.
