October 5 

BOERNE BOOK FAIR: All things literary come to Boerne courtesy of the Heath Public Library with book sales, children’s activities and author discussion panels. The fair runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Main Plaza, 100 N. Main St. Features an “Obsessed With Texas” author panel with participating guest authors, and a Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators tent full of children’s book. HEART & SOUL GALA by The Cibolo: Join a celebration honoring the heart and soul of the Cibolo’s organization, Carolyn Chipman Evans. The gala will be held at the Herff Farm, 33 Herff Road, beginning at 6 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at: cibolo.link/gala. 

GVTC GAME DAY 5K: Join GVTC Communications for its annual GVTC Game Day 5K. The family-friendly run and event will be held at Knibbe Ranch in Spring Branch. To register: www.runsignup.com. 

HILL COUNTY TALENT Show: Join Boerne Community Theatre for its eighth annual fundraiser and talent show, Hill Country's Got Talent. The audience will be treated to an evening of amazing talent, fabulous dining, silent auction and goodies. Tickets available at https://bit.ly/3yvoElY. 

PUMPKIN PATCH OPEN: The First United Methodist Church Pumpkin Patch is open weekends through Oct. 27 at City Park, 102 City Park Road: Fridays, 3-6 p.m.; Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sundays, noon to 6 p.m. Admission is free to enjoy games, food trucks and entertainment for the whole family. FREE ROAM OKTOBERFEST: Two days of non-stop ‘Fest fun as Free Roam, 235 S. Main St., hosts live music, food trucks and games the whole family can enjoy. Dress to impress in your best Oktoberfest festival wear, for a contest with prizes. 

HOPTOBERFEST PARTY at 28 Songs, 110 Market Ave. in Boerne. Featuring live music on the patio starting at 1 p.m., a bratwurst eating contest, and beer and food specials. 

October 6 

BOERNE CONCERT BAND directed by Larry Schmidt presents “Something For Everyone,” a free concert at the Boerne Middle School North auditorium, 240 Johns Road. The Jazz Band will perform jazz selections at 6:30 p.m., followed by the Concert Band performing “Music from around the Globe” at 7 p.m. Details: www.boerneconcertband.com. 

PLANTS AND PUMPKIN Bar at Under the Fig Tree, 248 B S. Main St., for a family-friendly event of plants and pumpkin decorating from noon to 3 p.m. Kids can decorate a pumpkin while parents shop. Other games are available in the courtyard as well as young entrepreneurs setting up shop. 

CCBC OKTOBERFEST PARTY: Cibolo Creek Brewing Co., 448 S. Main St., is gearing up for an unforgettable Oktoberfest Party this year. From noon to 5 p.m. there will be live music, stein holding, German food specials, and more.  

October 9 

DEMOCRATIC PARTY MEETING: The Kendall County Democratic Party hosts a candidates' forum from 6-9 p.m. in the Patrick Heath Public Library Community Room at 451 N. Main St. This event will feature three candidates running for federal and state positions: Dr. Kristin Hook, Dr. Merrie Fox and Dwain Handley. The candidates will introduce themselves and then answer questions directly from the public. Meeting is free and open to the public. 

October 10 

THE GREATER BOERNE Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4 p.m. for The Agricultural Museum & Arts Center at 102 City Park.  

October 11 

JOLI TRUNK SHOW: A fun trunk show features a variety of unique apparel and accessories from Joli Boutique in Boerne. Attendees can enjoy snacks, wine and the latest fall clothing from Joli, while exploring the Burdick home in Cordillera Ranch at 3728 Clubs Drive from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is free.  

HOT ROD RUN on the Hill Country Mile: Friday through Sunday, Boerne is the site for the Hill Country’s premier classic car show, featuring hundreds of classic American cars and trucks from all over Texas and beyond. Entry is $50 to register a vehicle. There will be an early check in party on Friday at Old San Antonio Road. For details, go to: hcmrodrun.com. 

October 12 

INSPIRATION GARDEN FALL Series begins: Join the second session of this series of free mini-workshops, led by organic gardening experts, from 10 to 10:30 a.m. during the second and fourth weekend of the Farmers Market at Herff Farm, 33 Herff Road. This session will focus on fertilization. 

BLUEGRASS JAM: Bring your instrument and play along or just come 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to listen to the Bluegrass jams while exploring the exhibits and grounds of The AgriCultural, 102 City Park Road. Event is free to the public, but donations are welcome. 

MUSIC IN THE CAVE: Enjoy a spirited musical adventure with “A Taste of the Mariachi Extravaganza,” beginning at 7 p.m. in the Cave Without A Name, 325 Kreutzberg Road. The event features the return of Navelli Pena with UTSA’s Mariachi Los Paisanos and participants from the upcoming 30th annual Mariachi Extravaganza Music Festival in San Antonio. 

October 19 

BARKTOBERFEST: Join Hill Country Animal League for its fourth annual community Barktoberfest. The Oktoberfest-inspired festival runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Main Plaza and will be complete with doggy dash races, a dog costume contest, local beer vendors, music, food trucks, pet adoptions from local rescues, a petting zoo and more. 

ANTIQUE TRACTOR PULL: The AgriCultural Museum and Arts Center, 102 City Park Road, is hosting their fall antique tractor pull event. Watch antique tractors from around Texas compete to pull the heaviest weight the furthest distance. No charge to attend. 

WILD GAME DINNER: The Kendall County Wild Game dinner features some of the finest food from amazing cook teams. Fan favorites have included bacon-wrapped quail, fried alligator and axis, and wild boar chili verde. Tickets are only available at the door, with gates opening at 4 p.m. Details: www.kendallcountywildgamedinner.com.

October 26 

BOERNE BOO: Boerne Boo! is a fall festival hosted each year around Halloween at the the Heath Public Library, 451 N. Main St. The free family-friendly event includes arts and crafts, trick or treating, bounce houses, carnival games, food trucks, music, and, of course, lots of candy and prizes for costume contest winners. Pets are welcome.
