SEPTEMBER 28

TASTE OF COMFORT: From 5:30-9 p.m., the tastes and treasures of the Hill Country will be featured during Taste Of Comfort, being held at the Von Erich Ranch, 1637 FM 473 in Boerne. Tickets are $50 to taste some of the Hill Country’s finest cuisine and savory beverages in this fundraiser for the Comfort Public Library. Details: eventbrite.com, “Taste Of Comfort tickets.”

INSPIRATION GARDEN FALL Series: Join the third session of free mini-workshops, led by organic gardening experts, from 10-10:30 a.m. during the second and fourth weekend of the month, at the Farmers Market at Herff Farm, 33 Herff Road. This session will focus on root crops.

ANNUAL BOERNE BIERFEST: Use your commemorative stein to sample from more than 30 of the best craft breweries in Texas and beyond from noon to 6 p.m. at the AgriCultural Museum and Arts Center, 102 City Park Road. BierFest also offers great food, live music, traditional feats of strength, art displays and a live auction. Proceeds benefiting Hill Country Council for the Arts. Tickets start at $30.

FIRST FALL FESTIVAL: Pure County BBQ & Grill is hosting its first-ever Fall Festival from 4-9 p.m. at its 1481 S. Main St. location. Event features fall photo setup, pie-eating contest, autumn arts and crafts, and other autumn festivities.

OCTOBER 1

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT, presented by Drug Free Comfort, is set for 6-8 p.m. at Comfort Park. Invited guests include Kendall County Sheriff’s officers, Comfort Volunteer Fire Department team and school resource officers. Attendees are encouraged to bring a dish for a community potluck dinner.

THE GREATER BOERNE Chamber of Commerce will hold ribbon-cutting ceremonies at 11:30 a.m. for Magnolia Psychiatry, 501 E. San Antonio Ave.; and at 1:30 p.m. for Mike’s Vapor Shop, 1433 S. Main St. suite 103.

OCTOBER 2

MS. KATHLEEN’S STORYTIME from 9:1510 a.m. at the Cibolo Nature Center. Ms. Kathleen will read a story highlighting the plants, animals and other elements of our natural world. After reading, participants will be able to join in on a hands-on craft, presentation, or outdoor activity. The recommended age is 2-5 years old.

THE GREATER BOERNE Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. for Tres Bella Salon and Spa, 1022 River Road suite 9, celebrating their new location.

OCTOBER 3

LUNCH AND LEARN hosted by Boerne Radio from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Las Guitarras Mexican Restaurant, 911 S. Main St. This is Boost Boerne Business’s first Business Professionals Lunch and Learn, showcasing two leading business experts who will provide essential information to elevate your business. ANNUAL PICKLEBALL TOURNAMENT at Fair Oaks Ranch Country Club courts starting at 1 p.m. Sign up a team of two: a pickleball clinic is set for noon to 12:45 p.m. before play begins. Teams will be divided into beginner and advanced divisions. Register at: business.boerne.org.

FAMILY NIGHT HIKE at Cibolo Nature Center. Night hikes begin at 7 p.m. for families to learn about and enjoy The Cibolo. Parents, grandparents and the kids are all welcome. Cost for this hike is $30 per family.

BOERNE BOOK FAIR: All things literary come to Boerne courtesy of the Heath Public Library, with book sales, children’s activities and author discussion panels. The fair runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Main Plaza, 100 N. Main St. Features include an “Obsessed With Texas”author panel with guest authors, and a Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators tent full of children’s book. HEART & SOUL GALA by The Cibolo, a celebration honoring the heart and soul of the Cibolo’s organization, Carolyn Chipman Evans. The gala begins at 6 p.m. at the Herff Farm, 33 Herff Road. Tickets can be purchased at: cibolo.link/gala.

FREE ROAM OKTOBERFEST: Two days of non-stop fun as Free Roam, 235 S. Main St., brings live music, delicious food from local food trucks, and games the whole family can enjoy. Dress to impress in your best Oktoberfest festival wear, with a “best costume contest.”

BOERNE CONCERT BAND, directed by Larry Schmidt, presents “Something For Everyone,” a free concert at the Boerne Middle School North auditorium, 240 Johns Road. Main St., for a family- friendly event of plants and pumpkin decorating from noon to 3 p.m. Kids can decorate a pumpkin while you shop. Other games are available in the courtyard.

CIBOLO CREEK OKTOBERFEST party: Cibolo Creek Brewing Co., 448 S. Main St., holds its Oktoberfest Party, from noon to 5 p.m. Live music, stein holding, German food specials and more.

OCTOBER 19

BARKTOBERFEST: Join Hill Country Animal League for its fourth annual Barktoberfest! This Oktoberfest-inspired festival will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Main Plaza, 100 N. Main St. and will be complete with doggy dash races, a dog costume contest, local beer vendors, music, food trucks, pet adoptions from local rescues, a petting zoo and more.
