The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country has awarded $400,000 to Hill Country organizations through its Community Impact Fund, which provides unrestricted grants for general operations and supports specific projects upon request.
Several Kendall County nonprofits received unrestricted operating support: Hill Country Mission for Health, The Center, and Transformation House each received an $11,000 grant.
“We’re thrilled with this award,” said Lori Houck, Transformation House executive director. “These funds are crucial for continuing our therapy, case management and temporary housing services for local women and children leaving traumatic situations.”
Other organizations benefited from project-based grants. Blessings in a Backpack received $10,000 to supply nutritional food for Boerne Independent School District students every weekend. Hill Country Daily Bread Ministries received funding for its “Stand By Me” youth mentoring program, while the Hill Country Pregnancy Care Center and LOVE Kendall County Kids received grants for the parenting classes and food programs they offer.
The Community Foundation supports charitable initiatives across a 10-county region, annually impacting over 200 nonprofits and assisting more than 100 students pursuing higher education or technical training.
This year alone, donors have directed over $200,000 in grants to Kendall County nonprofits.
“It’s a privilege to live in an area with so many wonderful organizations,” said Austin Dickson, CEO of the Foundation. “We’re honored to provide financial support to help them thrive.”
