SAN ANTONIO – Boerne High picked up a muchneeded district volleyball win Tuesday night in the Muledome.
The Lady Greyhounds were in S.A. and went five before defeating the Lady Mules, 25-14, 19-25, 25-18, 25-27, 15-6.
BHS improved to 18-8 overall and is 3-3 in district. They are in the thick of the district race and were off Friday. They’ll host Pieper Tuesday and visit New Braunfels Tuesday to close out the first round.
Boerne’s 6-foot-3 Kaylie Bourn had a strong match against the under-sized Mules and finished with 15 kills and 4 blocks.
Bella Pettet and Ava Rocchio added 9 kills each, Aubree Stegall tallied 7 kills and Holly Reeder recorded 6 kills.
The Mules struggled with serve-receive and BHS dropped in 17 aces. Calynn Ramos served up 5 aces, Lauren Magnus had 4 aces and Pettet finished with 3 aces.
Paige Stegall added 3 blocks and Rocchio chipped in with 2 blocks. Haley Wheeler came up with 19 digs, Ramos was in double- digit digs with 12, while Magnus and Presley Mullins both came up with 8 digs.
Magnus also dished out 23 assists and Ramos added 17 assists.
