Fair Oaks Ranch signs on with new trash hauler starting Sept. 30

30

Fair Oaks Ranch residents will see a swap-out of trash containers next week after the city signed a contract with a new disposal firm.

The city’s contract with Republic Services expires Sept. 30. Mayor Greg Maxton said the city began looking at renewal and contracts in February and March, forming a committee to study services.

Rather than renew the contract with Republic, the city went out for bids and chose Frontier Waste Solutions as its new trash and refuse hauler.

Frontier Waste Solutions was selected based on factors like price, customer service, equipment quality, and the ability to provide a seamless transition, city officials said.

Frontier Waste will provide new trash and recycling carts. The pickup and delivery of waste carts is being coordinated between Republic Services and Frontier Waste beginning on homeowners’ trash days the week of Sept. 23.

“As part of the normal trash cycle, Republic Services will come empty them, and then pick them up.” Frontier will distribute the new containers before the next scheduled trash day, he said.

The monthly rate for residential service will be $28.47 plus applicable taxes and fees, an increase over amounts currently charged to homeowners.

Residents will need to contact Frontier to establish an account, Maxton said, at: https:// frontierwaste. com/ sign- up/ fair-oaks-ranch.

Frontier Waste will be responsible for billing, which will be done quarterly and in advance. There is no need to contact Republic to halt service, as the contract expires Sept. 30, ending their service to the city.

“ If you have some sort of automatic payment, I’d take whatever action necessary to stop that action,” Maxton suggested.

Accounts can be set up by calling Frontier Waste’s Customer Service at 210-807-8555.

New carts will include literature with detailed instructions for use and placement.
