Lady Rangers defeat BHS volleyball team

Boerne High continued district volleyball action with a road game Tuesday in Spring Branch against Smithson Valley.

The Lady Rangers won, 27-25, 25-21, 25-16, to drop BHS to 2-2 in district and is 17-7 overall.

Boerne High hosted Boerne Champion Friday in their first- ever regular-season meeting between the two Boerne ISD schools. They’ve only ever scrimmaged against each other.

BHS has either swept or been swept in its four district matches. They beat Wagner and Veterans Memorial in three sets, both at home, and fell to Kerrville Tivy and Smithson Valley in straight sets, both on the road.

In Tuesday’s match, Paige Stegall paced the team in kills with 8, Kaylie Bourn added 7 kills and Ava Rocchio finished with 6 kills.

Calynn Ramos served it well and dropped in 3 of their 6 aces, while Paige Stegall tallied 5 blocks and Rocchio had 3 blocks.

Haley Wheeler came up with 24 digs and Lauren Magnus recorded 11 digs. Magnus also tallied 18 assists and Ramos chipped in with 13 assists.
