Geneva School of Boerne turned in a strong performance in its final regular-season volleyball tournament last weekend before playing a district match Tuesday at Schertz John Paul II.
The Eagles were at the Castle Hills Tournament in San Antonio and advanced all the way to the championship match. Geneva played three pool games and then won its semifinals match to face TMI – Episcopal for first place in the gold division. The Lady Panthers won Saturday’s championship match and Geneva finished second.
It was a rematch of a contest played Aug. 20 in Boerne when Geneva hosted the Panthers and won. TMI evened their series this year after taking gold at the tourney.
The Eagles visited John Paul II on Tuesday to begin district action and won in straight sets, 25-11, 25-16, 25-23, to start league play at 1-0.
They were also in action Thursday against Holy Cross as they continued league play.
