Champion is still in the hunt for its first win after they tied and suffered a loss to start the year at 0-1-1.

Champion is at home for its next three matches and hosts Harlandale Tuesday. They’ll welcome Memorial Friday and then kick off district play next Tuesday at home against New Braunfels Canyon.

The Chargers started the season Tuesday at Madison and battled the Mavericks to a 0-0 tie.

On Friday, Champion visited Judson and scored three goals but was defeated by the Rockets, 5-3.

The Chargers and Rockets both scored two goals in the first half to knot it up at 2-2 at the break, but Judson outscored Champion in the second half, 3-1.

Gabe Hernandez, Nico Coredero and Calvin Perryman all tallied singles goals for the Chargers, while Hayden Landis and Jack Weltens picked up single assists in the match and Will Manarpaac was in goal for Champion.
