The Youth Department is taking August as a “sleeper month,” to catch up from the busy summer and prepare for the new school year.
We have a wonderful lineup of programs that we can’t wait to begin starting the second week of September. For now, here is a sneak peek into what we have in store.
Baby Storytimes
This school year, we are thrilled to offer two Baby Storytime sessions each week for double the fun. Starting Sept. 10, join us at 9:30 a.m. every Tuesday for Rhyme & Shine and Thursdays for Book Babies in the Community Room.
At Baby Storytime, you and your little ones can look forward to engaging songs, a few brief stories and precious bonding moments. After our cheerful goodbye song, stay a little longer and enjoy a magical bubble show. Come be part of this wonderful journey of joy and learning
PAWS 4 Reading
Every Tuesday at 3:30 p. m. bring your little readers to the library and visit with our partners from PAWS 4 Hearts. We love visiting with Buddy and Dwight, two of our puppy pals who visit the library regularly.
These dogs are not only cute and cuddly but also trained and certified to be with your children. Kids can relax as they spend time with these loveable creatures, or they can practice their reading skills with an attentive listener.
Either way, it is a privilege to have these precious pals in our library.
Game On!
Calling all elementary- aged children; get ready to Game On with us at 3:30 p.m. on Thursdays in the Youth Activity Room.
Head over to the library after school for an entertaining hour of gaming and camaraderie. At Game On, we have a variety of fun, age-appropriate video games perfect for your children.
These games provide the chance for the kids to work together or compete as they build bonds and friendships. Whether you’re a video game expert or a beginner, this program is rated E for everyone.
Storytime at Herff Farms
Don’t forget to mark your calendar for special weekend storytimes at the Herff Farmers Market Farmhouse. Every second Saturday at 10:30 a.m., join us for “Movin’ & Groovin’,” a music and movement program perfect for little ones who love active activities.
Likewise, every third Saturday of the month, also at10:30 a.m., meet us at the farmers market for a terrific, themed Storytime perfect for the whole family.
Prepare to be whisked away into a world of whimsy as we unveil a delightful array of themed tales, toe-tapping tunes and a craft.
