FALL TOMATO WORKSHOP by the Cibolo Center for Conservation, with tomato expert Keith Amalung holding a hands-on workshop from 1:20-2:15 p.m. in the Teaching Garden at Herff Farm. MAGIC OF HORSES Gala by Triple H Equitherapy. The evening will include complimentary beer, wine and margaritas while guests explore the silent auction, showcasing unique western artwork, stylish western wear and exclusive items from across Texas. WOMEN’S EQUALITY DAY Market: Join the Craft Beer Girls of Boerne and the League of Women Voters at Tusculum Brewing Company, 236 S. Main St., for a special market from 6-8 p.m. featuring more than 20 women-owned vendors and live music while sipping on some local craft beer.

HOPE FOR HEROES Texas hero greeting: Come welcome and show support for two first responder heroes and their families from 9:30-11 a.m. Saturday, August 24 at The Kendall Inn, 128 W Blanco Road. They will have free breakfast tacos and coffee (while they last).

BOERNE LITTLE LEAGUE World Series “Watch Party” — Join A Signature Production for a free LLWS Watch Party beginning at 2 p.m. at The Kendall, 128 W Blanco Road, for the Boerne Youth Athletic Association’s U.S. Championship game. They have five screens, an indoor venue and lots of free goodies. Party slated to run 2-5 p.m.

A WINE TASTING at Saint Tryphon Farm and Vineyards: Indulge Wine Bar has partnered with a local vineyard, Saint Tryphon, for a fun-filled wine tasting event from 5-8 p.m. Guests can expect an evening of wine education, samples and light bites provided by Indulge. Tickets for the event can be purchased via the wine bar’s website.

LITTLE LEAGUE RETURN: The members of the Boerne (Southwest) Little League World Series return from the Williamsport, Pennsylvania event on Monday and will be welcomed back by a parade down the Hill Country Mile. Wear your best orange and yellow (Southwest team colors) and welcome the players and coaches back to town. The team will be escorted by Boerne Police Department, Boerne Fire Department and Cavender Chevrolet for a procession down Main Street around 4:45 p.m., with an official “Welcome Home” from local officials beginning at 5:15 p.m. in Main Plaza. The event will wind up with food, drinks and family-friendly fun. This event is free and open to the public. (NOTE: Times for this event are subject to change, based on the team’s travel schedule.)

THE GREATER BOERNE Chamber of Commerce will hold ribbon-cutting ceremonies at 1:30 p.m. for Office Box Boerne at 1415 E. Blanco Road, to celebrate its sixth anniversary; and at 4 p.m. for Forge Business Brokerage, 606 Frey St.

CHUCK WAGON BREAKFAST by Frost Bank from 7:30-9:30 a.m. at Frost Bank, 1300 S. Main St. They’ll be serving scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, peach cobbler and coffee. The event is held with the launch of the Kendall County Fair, which runs Aug. 29-Sept. 1. This event is free and open to the public.

LINCOLN REAGAN DINNER, sponsored by the Kendall County Republican Party, presents “Cruz To Victory,” an evening with U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) in the Bevy Hotel’s Menger Ballroom, 101 Herff Road in Boerne. Evening starts with a 5:30 p.m. VIP reception, followed by 6:30 p.m. dinner and program. FAITH’S JOURNEY CONCERT at First Baptist Church, 631 S. School St. in Boerne. Faith’s Journey is an award-winning ministry of music out of Branson, Missouri, that performs more than 120 dates each year, singing traditional gospel music. The concert, free admission, begins at 6 p.m. The group consists of baritone Jonathan Edwards, soprano Deanna Edwards and tenor and pianist Scott Roberts.
