While the Boerne Little League team has been taking care of business at the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, Kim Blohm and the crew at the Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce have kept Boerne residents abreast of the activities being organized here, in support of the Boerne “Southwest” team.
Businesses across town are rallying behind the team, hosting watch parties for the upcoming games. The chamber has circulated a list of more than a dozen restaurants, bars, breweries and Hill Country Mile businesses that will welcome Little League fans on Saturday.

A “Welcome Home Celebration” is already scheduled for 4: 30--6:30 p.m. Monday, once the team returns from Sunday’s World Championship or third-place contest in Williamsport.
Chamber President Kim Blohm said the team will be brought into town by a Boerne Police Department and Boerne Fire Department escort. The entourage will travel from the fire station down the Hill Country Mile to River Road, before turning back to the Main Plaza downtown.
The Main Plaza celebration is tentatively slated to begin at 5:15 p.m., with local leaders welcoming the players, coaches and parents back from their adventure.
