The Boerne Little League baseball team moved to 2-0 at the Little League World Series after they defeated Florida, Monday night in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, 4-1.
Boerne plays Nevada in a battle of unbeaten teams in the U.S. semifinals Wednesday at 2 p.m. If they win that game, they advance to the U.S. championship game on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
Monday’s game was tied 1-1 at the end of one inning, but Boerne pulled away with a 3-run third inning and took advantage of Florida’s struggles on the mound.
In the third, Boerne only had one hit, but used three wild pitches, two hit batters, two walks – one of them intentional – to score its three runs.
Julian Hurst went the distance on the mound for Boerne and pitched a great game after he fanned 10 Florida batters.
