Champion cheer competes at UCA camp

The Boerne Champion Cheerleaders competed at the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) camp and brought home some well-deserved awards.

In varsity competition, the Chargers received Blue Superior Ribbon in Cheer, Gold Superior Ribbon in Camp Routine, 2nd Place Camp Routine and All Seniors were nominated for UCA Staff. In JV competition, the Chargers earned Blue Superior Ribbon in Camp Routine, Gold Superior Ribbon Cheer, 1st Place Game Day Cheer, 1st Place Spirit Routine and 1st Place Camp Routine.

Twelve of the Chargers were named All-American Cheerleaders. They include freshman Kailah, Dylan, Ellie and Ella O’Dell. Sophomores were Avery, Payton, Miah and seniors were Caroline, Sydney, Kenli, Mia, Presley H.

They were six Pin-It Forward Awards earned by Charli, Lacy, Presley Z, Presley H, Adrienne and Avery.

The pin-it-forward award is one of the special duties of an instructor to recognize an athlete for a quality that has made them stand out.

The unique moment of pinning it forward is that the staff can personally award it at any time throughout the camp and for any reason.

Freshman Jump Princess was Ella Odell and Varsity Jump Finalist was Payton.

The Chargers also received the Top Banana award on Days 1 and 4. This is awarded to the team that demonstrates the most spirit: leadership, hard work, fun, enthusiasm, respect, attention and support.
