The Geneva School of Boerne baseball team continues to find ways to win and earned another victory on Friday when the Eagles visited Austin Regents.
Geneva was down 3-1, took an 8-3 lead and then held off a last-inning charge by Regents to win, 8-6, despite getting outhit, 11-6.
The Eagles are 8-1-1 overall and host TMI – Episcopal on Tuesday and St. Anthony on Wednesday. Geneva and TMI went 13 innings in last Tuesday’s game.
Geneva had 6 hits on Friday, all singles. Guy George singled and scored; Ford Elizondo plated a run; Chaz Lutz singled, scored and picked up 2 RBI; Luke Valdez, Hudson McNew and Cannon Menn all scored once; Shawn George hit 2 singles and pushed in a run; Grant Roberson knocked out 2 singles and Zeke Styles crossed home plate twice.
Shawn George picked up the win in the circle and went 6.1 innings. He gave up 10 hits, 2 earned runs, fanned 6 and walked 1. Valdez finished up on the hill and yielded a hit, while striking out one.
