The Geneva School of Boerne softball team picked up a pair of wins last Friday in Austin after the Eagles swept Brentwood Christian in doubleheader action.
Geneva won 16-6 and 12-9 and improves to 2-5 this year. The Eagles play another doubleheader and will host St. Anthony on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
In Friday’s 12-9 win, Alexa Elizondo had 4 hits, 2 of them doubles and 3 RBI; Brynn Riebel doubled and homered and drove in 4 runs; Sydney Griffey doubled; Kate Friesenhahn picked up 2 RBI, while Maggie Chisholm and KK Chisholm both hit 2 singles and scored two runs.
Madeline Egbert went all 7 innings and threw 126 pitches to get the win and struck out 6 batters.
In Friday’s 16-6 victory, the Eagles took the game in five innings and knocked out 19 hits.
Madeline Egbert and Maegan Riebel both hit homers, Abby Brehmer, KK Chisholm, Alexa Elizondo and Avery Myrick hit doubles and Brynn Riebel recorded 2 doubles and 2 singles and drove in 3 runs, while Elizondo finished with 3 hits and 3 runs scored.
Myrick went 4.2 innings and Egbert faced one batter. Myrick struck out 3 batters.
