AUGUST 17 

STORYTIME WITH MS. Constance from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Herff Farm, 33 Herff Road. This week’s storytime features a Smokey the Bear story. For storytime schedule, see: cibolo.org. 

MOONDANCE OUTDOOR CONCERT Series features Trey Gonzalez beginning at 7:30 p.m. at Cibolo Nature Center, 140 City Park Road. Family-friendly outdoor concert series supporting local musicians. Bring chairs, picnic blankets, cushions, beer, food and ice chests; a food truck will also be on site. Tickets: $15 per person; 12 years old and under are free. 

RAISED BED GARDENING Workshop, whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just starting out. This class is designed to provide the knowledge and skills needed to create and maintain a thriving raised bed garden. Hands-on demonstration; tips from Keith Amelung. $25 per person. Register at cibolo.org. 

BARN GARAGE SALE: Discover your next thrifted gem at the Historic Barn Garage Sale from 9 a.m.-noon in the barn at Herff Farm, 33 Herff Road. Garage sale is a cash-only event. 

ANTE TEXAS HOLD’EM Poker Tournament: “Up the Ante, Texas Hold ‘Em Poker Tournament,” benefiting the Kendall County Women's Shelter, begins at noon at the Dominion Country Club. Registration must be completed by 10:30 a.m.  

AUGUST 19 

DRUG FREE COMFORT presents a screening of the movie LIKE, with the San Antonio Council on Alcohol and Drug Awareness, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Lobby Coffee Shop, 523 Seventh St. in Comfort. The movie will be followed by expert discussion, refreshments and a raffle. Registration is required, at: bit.ly/3yB4I1i.

THE GREATER BOERNE Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1:30 p.m. for The WELLB Company at the Chamber’s boardroom at 121 S. Main St. 

AUGUST 24 

  FALL TOMATO WORKSHOP by the Cibolo Center for Conservation, with tomato expert Keith Amalung holding a hands-on workshop from 1:20-2:15 p.m. in the Teaching Garden at Herff Farm. Learn all about planting and caring for fall tomatoes to achieve a successful 60-day yield. Signup includes a tomato plant to take home. $35 per ticket. Register at cibolo.org. 

MAGIC OF HORSES Gala by Triple H Equitherapy. The evening will include complimentary beer, wine and margaritas while guests explore the silent auction, showcasing unique western artwork, stylish western wear and exclusive items from across Texas. WOMEN’S EQUALITY DAY Market. Join the Craft Beer Girls of Boerne and the League of Women Voters at Tusculum Brewing Company, 236 S. Main St., for a special market from 6-8 p.m. featuring more than 20 women-owned vendors and live music while sipping on some local craft beer.

LINCOLN REAGAN DINNER, sponsored by the Kendall County Republican Party, presents “Cruz To Victory,” an evening with U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) in the Bevy Hotel’s Menger Ballroom, 101 Herff Road in Boerne. Evening starts with a 5:30 p.m. VIP reception, followed by 6:30 p.m. dinner and program. SEPTEMBER 27-28  

VINTAGE FLEA MARKET at 8th Street Market in Comfort. More than 20 vendors, ranging from everything from antiques, art, artisans, food and wine, will show at this family-friendly event.
