• Aug. 6: Mobile. Explore the world of kinetic art made famous by Alexander Calder. Class will use alcohol ink, plastic and wire to form a hanging sculpture. Practice finding the balance and attaching layer upon layer of floating shapes to build a kinetic sculpture of your very own.
• Aug. 13: Mosaic Coaster. A simple construction of glass and tile. Fashion a shaped coaster made from wood and filled with a pattern of glass or shell.
Pick from a heart, hummingbird, star, or flower and grout a durable keepsake. We will use traditional materials and explore nontraditional, as well.
• Aug. 20, 27: Cricut Basics. Need a refresher course, or just never mastered your new Cricut? We will start with projects that address setup, materials, and tools. Continue with us into a deep dive into software like merging, borders, advanced materials, and tricks.
• Sept. 3: Airbrushing with 3-part Stencils. Develop your own stencil to use with multiple color airbrushing applications. Fabricate your own 3-part stencil, operate an airbrush, and practice shading and masking to create dimensional works of art.
• Sept. 10: Faux Fabric. Manipulate paper and fiber to form a textile product. We will then apply paint, pigment pencils, and oil pastels to create a focal point. Leave it as is or cut apart for mixed-media or incorporate it into a quilted project.
