BISD hosts law enforcement sessions

BOERNE — Throughout the summer, the Boerne Independent School District hosted law enforcement training sessions for multiple agencies across the state.

During June and July, BISD hosted seven training sessions which served more than 250 law enforcement members.

In June, over 100 law enforcement, fire, and EMS members from across our region, as well as campus administrators, participated in a hands-on Active Attack Integrated Response (AAIR) training.

At these sessions, the attendees reviewed and practiced life-saving techniques used during critical incidents.

In July, BISD hosted Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) for over 20 agencies from across Texas, including school resource officers. The training includes standard response protocol for an active attack event.

For the past two years, BISD has partnered with ALERRT and the Texas State Safety Center to host over 20 training sessions. Boerne ISD and Boerne Police Department serve as a regional host for ALERRT.
