JULY 27

GOAT YOGA AT Herff Farm: Experience a fantastic Yin Yoga joint pain and fibromyalgia healing experience coupled with baby goats at the Herff Farm, 33 Herff Road. BLUEGRASS JAM: Bring your instrument and play along or just come to listen to the Bluegrass Jams from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the AgriCultural Museum and Arts Center, 102 City Park Road. Event is free and open to the public; donations welcome.

TASTE OF THE MARKET: Chef Lulu Belz from LuBelz Rubs is leading a demonstration during the Farmers Market, to show how to create simple dishes using fresh, organic ingredients from our vendors. The demonstration begins at 10:30 a.m. during the Farmers Market, 33 Herff Road, which runs 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

ANTIQUE TRACTOR PULL at the AgriCultural Museum and Arts Center. Come see this fun tractor pull at night. The event begins at 6 p.m. at 102 City Park Road. The track will be illuminated but bringing your own flashlight is recommended. There is no entry fee, but donations are welcome. Details: theagricultural.org.

THE GREATER BOERNE Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1:30 p.m. for Momentum Physical Therapy-Dominion Crossing at 21727 I-10 in Boerne.

BOERNE VILLAGE BAND presents “Abendkonzert.” Join the Boerne community at 7:30 p.m. at Main Plaza, 100 N. Main St., to enjoy the Boerne Village Band, the longest continuously playing German band outside of Germany. The band will enchant you with traditional German music and tales of Boerne’s historic past.

AUGUST 1

THE GREATER BOERNE Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4 p.m. for The Oak of Boerne, 605 S. Main St., to celebrate its one-year anniversary.

BOOK SIGNING FOR “Replenishing Our Hills: Protecting Lands in the Heart of the Hill Country.” Come to Herff Farm between 5-7 p.m. for a book signing by both Replenishing The Hill authors. The book includes inspiring images of conserved land, provides a history of conservation efforts, and highlights the contributions of regional land trusts, and a community-based nature center.

AUGUST 3

PARKING LOT PARTY. The Bubble Tea Factory and other vendors are throwing a Parking Lot Party beginning at 9 a.m. at 1415 E. Blanco Road. Show up early for some special one-day only events. Surprises and specials happen the entire day.

BACK TO SCHOOL Bash by Studio 13 from 3-7 p.m. at the North 40, 41109 I-10 East. Enjoy a day filled with excitement; support your local vendors; discover a variety of amazing setups. Delicious food trucks serving up your favorite treats; back-to-school haircuts to get the kids ready for the new year; and school supply giveaways to ensure every student is prepared.

AUGUST 4

8TH ANNIVERSARY PARTY at Cibolo Creek Brewing Co., 448 S. Main St. from noon to 5 p.m. to celebrate eight years of pouring beers and making friends. Events include a hot wing contest, stein holding, Hammerschlagen and face painting. Hill Country Hot Peppers will have a booth onsite selling their tasty hot sauces. Cibolo will also have special beer releases and some tasty food specials.

AUGUST 8

BOERNE AREA DEMOCRATS will host their monthly meeting at noon at the Longhorn Café in Boerne, 369 E. Esser Road. Guest speaker will be Dr. Hector Garza, a researcher and clinical psychologist specializing in the treatment of combat-related post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). He has published on the treatment of PTSD in combat veterans, masculine psychology in the aftermath of war, the evolutionary roots of political partisanship and the interplay between religious practice and psychopathology.

KENDALL COUNTY HISTORICAL Commission presents “Early Texas Botanists of the 19th Century” at 6 p.m. at the Patrick Heath Public Library, 451 N. Main St. Lonnie Childs, who serves on the Gillespie County Historical Society board of directors, will take attendees on a journey back to the days of the settlement of the Hill Country. AUGUST 19

DRUG FREE COMFORT presents a screening of the movie “LIKE” with the San Antonio Council on Alcohol and Drug Awareness from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Lobby Coffee Shop, 523 Seventh St. In Comfort. AUGUST 29

LINCOLN REAGAN DINNER sponsored by the Kendall County Republican Party, presents “Cruz To Victory,” an evening with Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) in the Bevy Hotel’s Menger Ballroom, 101 Herff Road in Boerne. Evening starts with a 5:30 p.m. VIP reception, followed by a 6:30 p.m. dinner and program. Silent auction items accepted by the Kendall County Republican Women.

SEPTEMBER 27-28

VINTAGE FLEA MARKET planned at the 8th Street Market in Comfort. More than 20 vendors are expected, with everything from antiques, art, artisans to fine food and wine.
