The Boerne High baseball team had nine players named to the All-District 27-4A baseball team as voted upon by the district coaches.
Two of the Greyhounds earned superlatives after junior Dylan Perez was named the 27-4A Offensive Player of the Year and sophomore Jackson Grimes was voted as the Newcomer of the Year in the district.
Junior Campbell Jackson was selected as a first-team pitcher, senior Jace Preston was named a first-team catcher, senior Grant Tamplet was a first-team second baseman, junior Walker Hill was a first-team outfielder, junior Hudson McNew was a unanimous first-team designated hitter and junior Hutson Hendrix was named a first-team Utility Player.
Junior Ryan Hooper was named a second team third baseman.
The Greyhounds had a great season and reached the 30-win plateau under first-year coach Geoff Curtin. Along the way, Curtin also recorded his 100th career victory.
Boerne finished the year at 30-11 and went 12-3 in district to wrap up the 27-4A title in Curtin’s first season.
BHS entered the playoffs on a roll and went five round deep in 2024. They swept Kennedy and Navasota in the first two rounds and then defeated El Campo in three games in Round 3.
Boerne swept Bishop in the fourth round and had a playoff record of 8-1 up to that point before they faced Calallen in the fifth round or regional finals.
The Wildcats edged Boerne in two close games in the regional championship round for the right to go to the state tournament and to end the BHS season.
