The Boerne Little League Majors (ages 10-12) All-Star team keeps rolling through the playoffs and has advanced to the next round.
Boerne swept through the District and Section rounds, and last weekend, was crowned the Texas West State Champions after they went 3-0 at the tourney held in Abilene.
Up next for the Boerne team is a trip to the United States Region Tournament. They’ll play at the Southwest Region in Waco, Aug. 1-5.
Boerne will open the tourney against a team from Arkansas. They’ll also tangle with teams from New Mexico, Louisiana and East Texas.
The winner of the tourney heads to the Little League World Series later in the summer in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
At the Texas West State tourney, Boerne went 3-0 and hasn’t dropped a game in the postseason so far.
Boerne beat Brownsville, 11-0, and then defeated Midland Northern, 13-2, before closing it out with a 16-2 win against University Little League to wrap up the title.
To help offset the cost of their trip to Waco in August, the team has set up a GoFundMe page. They hope to raise $20,000 and were close to $1,000 as of Wednesday of this week.
