COMFORT — Drug Free Comfort and the San Antonio Council on Alcohol and Drug Awareness (SACADA) are sponsoring a free movie “LIKE” followed by expert discussion, light refreshments and a raffle for free Skyline Gelato certificates.

LIKE” is a powerful film and evidence-based program exploring the impact of social media on children’s and adult lives and promotes positive online interactions.
Adults and children 10 and older are invited to attend from 6-7:30 p.m. Aug. 19 at the Lobby Coffee Shop, 523 Seventh St. in Comfort.
An expert panel will lead a discussion following the movie. Light refreshments will be provided and a raffle for free Skyline Gelato certificates will be held.
LIKE delves into all aspects of social media and technology use through: Candid interviews discussing social media use and its impacts on their lives and relationships and how they found solutions and hope.
Expert perspectives about technology’s effect on the brain and the addictive algorithm behind social media apps.
Exercises, tips and strategies to balance online and offline activities, maintain healthy digital relationships and reduce screen time.
“LIKE tells the real story behind social media platforms: you and all of us are the product,” said Mario O. Alvarez, vice president of Common Sense Media.
“It also tells the positive aspects of social media. Having a balanced perspective on how to navigate social media platforms is essential to all parents and educators raising and educating this generation,” Alvarez added.
