New management in place for Kendall Inn

New management in place for Kendall Inn

The Kendall Inn, a cornerstone of Boerne history since 1859, is now under new ownership.

The new ownership has been in place since July 1, according to Kendall Inn General Manager Nicole Chapman.

Now owned in a partnership between Innjoy Hospitality and Jauregui Holdings LLC, the Kendall Inn remains a cherished destination for travelers seeking its unique blend of historic charm and modern amenities.

“We are thrilled about the new ownership and management company taking the helm at The Kendall Inn,” said Chapman, in her fifth year at The Kendall helm. “This transition marks an exciting opportunity to build upon the inn’s storied history and enhance our commitment to providing exceptional experiences for our guests.”

A letter dated July 1 stated the new ownership team’s commitment “to maintaining the hotel’s distinctive character, from its beautifully preserved architecture to its exceptional service standards.”

“We are thrilled to take the helm of the Kendall Hotel, a true gem in Boerne’s crown,” said Adrian Ramirez, Partner at Innjoy Hospitality.

“Our vision is to build upon the hotel’s rich history, ensuring that every guest experiences the perfect blend of historic charm and modern luxury,” Ramirez said. “We are dedicated to making the Kendall Hotel a premier destination for travelers from near and far.”

The history of The Kendall begins on April 23, 1859, when John James sold the land to Erastus and Sarah Reed for $200. The Reeds built the center section of the Inn as their home, bringing a Southern Colonial style of architecture to the Texas Hill Country.

At the time, there weren’t regular hotels for travelers. This is when the Reed’s hotel tradition began, renting out their spare rooms to horsemen and stagecoach travelers.

The Kendall now is both a Texas and National Landmark and has given shelter to many famous people, including President Dwight D. Eisenhower.

As The Kendall Inn looks ahead and into 2025, Chapman said they are excited to announce a hand-full of significant enhancements aimed at elevating the guest experience to new heights. “Rooted in our commitment to unparalleled hospitality and memorable stays, these initiatives reflect our dedication to innovation and guest satisfaction,” she said.

“We are thrilled to welcome The Kendall Inn into the Magnolia Hospitality Services family,” said Adam Kipple, president of Magnolia Hospitality Services. “Under Nicole Chapman’s leadership and with our collective vision for excellence, we look forward to elevating the guest experience and further cementing The Kendall Inn as a premier destination.”

Located adjacent to Boerne’s Hill Country Mile shopping and dining attraction, The Kendall offers 34 uniquely decorated rooms, each with its own style and charm.

The Kendall contracts as home of Peggy’s on the Green, a restaurant created in 2016 by renowned chef Mark Bohanan — a Southern- inspired, all-American restaurant named for Mark’s late mother, who was a great cook in her own right.

The Kendall also is a destination for wedding and private parties, with its three different venues: a late 1800’s-style courtyard, the Kendall Halle with room for up to 250 guests, and The Creekside, its outdoor venue with a unique view of the Cibolo Creek in the background.
