BOERNE — The Boerne Area Democrats (BAD) recently announced Samuel Huron and Presley Hood as the winners of their 2024 scholarships.
Each year, BAD awards a $1,500 scholarship to a public high school student in Kendall County. This year, the group raised enough donations to award two scholarships, both to outstanding Boerne High School students.
Boerne High School graduate Huron, who plans to attend the University of Texas-Austin, plans to major in psychology and ultimately go on to law school.
Fellow BHS grad Presley Hood plans to attend UTSA and looks forward to a career in research on mental illness.
BAD was also able to award a $1,500 scholarship to the Center for Refugee Services to present to a student of their choice.
