Editor,
Regarding the Fair Oaks Ranch petition, note the city documents and applications refer to the facility as a “Civic Center” open to public events.
Compare this reference versus the way the city presents it to the residents as a “Community Center.”
The city says they will restrict public events, but what happens when they serve out their terms and there’s a new group in city government. Will they honor those same restrictions and see that they are enforced?
Lastly, the Civic Center is currently estimated to cost over $2.3 million. Shouldn’t residents vote to see if we need such a large and expensive Civic Center that includes things like a kitchen?
