— DAS FESTIVAL OF Kendall begins June 15 and the party won’t stop until June 16. The inaugural Das Festival parade begins at 10 a.m. on Main Street, and festivities follow the rest of the weekend at Random Beer Garden, 11 Upper Cibolo Road. Live music until 10 p.m. Saturday and 8 p.m. Sunday; watermelon-eating contest, egg toss, Dachshund races — The event will be a celebration of Boerne and Kendall County traditions and heritage. A beer stein hoisting competition runs all weekend. $5 admission at Random, cash only; 12 and under get in free.

Prepare for edge- of-your-seat excitement at the sixth annual Kendall County Fair Association Bull Riding Blowout at the Kendall County Fairgrounds, 1307 River Road. — THE GREATER BOERNE Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon- cutting ceremony at: 11:30 a.m. for THRU Project, 4502 Centerview Drive, for launching their Heart Gallery initiative.
MEET YOUR MEAT at the Boerne Farmers Market: As a part of their education series classes, this class, called “Meet Your Meat” with Kriss Abigail, will be held from 5-6 p.m. at the Boerne Farmer’s Market, 402 E. Blanco Road, and will meet under the big oak tree.

— MOONDANCE OUTDOOR CONCERT Series featuring Trey Gonzalez, at Cibolo Nature Center, 140 City Park Road. This is a family-friendly outdoor concert series supporting local musicians. Bring chairs, picnic blankets, cushions, beer, food and ice chests. A food truck will also be on site. Music starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets: $15 per person. 12 years old and under are free.

— BOERNE CONCERT BAND is giving a free Independence Day concert at 6:30 p.m. in the Main Plaza, 100. N Main St. The Boerne Jazz Band will be featured prior to the Concert Band’s performance. Bring lawn chairs and come enjoy some jazz and patriotic selections to begin the Independence Day celebration.
