Geneva names Moeller as next Head of School

The Geneva School of Boerne board of trustees selected Leslie Moeller as its next Head of School beginning June 18.

Moeller and her family moved to Virginia in 2015 and are returning to Boerne after being longtime members of the Geneva community.

Moeller served 2004-2015 as Geneva’s Head of School and board of trustees’ president, when she co-chaired the first Capital Campaign, helped develop the Logic School language arts program, directed the first school play and taught Logic School literature, grammar and vocabulary.

She also co-founded the debate team and coached them to national recognition and taught senior thesis.

“God has given me the privilege of working with a wide variety of classical, Christian schools and my exposure to other schools across the nation has only increased my appreciation for Geneva,” Moeller said.

“I am humbled and grateful that God would allow me the opportunity to return to Geneva and be a part of the next chapter in the school,” Moeller said. “He has built and continues to bless. I consider this my dream job.”

The new head of school has been a leader in promoting this educational movement as the board chair for the Society for Classical Learning, a position she has held for 16 years. “Leslie is one of the most capable and knowledgeable leaders in the classical Christian school movement,” Eric Cook, SCL president, said. “She leads with passion, integrity, strength and impeccable character. I could not be more excited for her and the Geneva community.”

Moeller has consulted with schools across the nation, including Geneva, for over 13 years. In addition to serving on the Geneva board of trustees, she also serves on boards at two other classical Christian schools.

She was the Head of Upper School at The Covenant School in Charlottesville, Virginia for three years and currently teaches in the Gordon College Master of Arts in Classical School Leadership program. Her ability to lead well stems directly from her own experience as an administrator and teacher.

She has a bachelor’s degree in English literature and economics from the University of Virginia and her Juris Doctorate from Boston College Law School. She was a litigator first in Chicago and then in Dallas prior to the birth of her first child.

Her family moved to Boerne and joined Geneva in 2002 when her oldest son entered second grade. She began teaching at Geneva in 2004.

Moeller and her husband, Eric, have two married sons, Jack (Geneva Class of 2013) and Gray (Geneva Class of 2015), and a daughter who recently graduated from The Veritas School in Richmond, Virginia.
