A total of 14 Boerne Champion baseball players earned all-district honors as voted upon by the coaches from District 26-5A.
There were eight first teamers, four of them unanimous, while four landed on the second squad and two more were named honorable mention. Senior Evan Kuhl was a unanimous first-team outfielder, freshman Owen Kuhl was a first-team outfielder, senior Quinn Grable was a unanimous first-team second baseman, senior Jordan Ballin was a unanimous first-team shortstop, Garland Whitehead was a firstteam third baseman, senior Gage Goldberg was a unanimous firstteam catcher, junior Sawyer Smith was a first-team pitcher and junior Aidan Smith was a first-team designated hitter.
Senior Cameron Logan was a second-team outfielder, junior Sam Miller was a second-team first baseman, senior Matthew Booth was a second-team pitcher and junior AJ Grizzaffi was a second-team pitcher.
Senior Brock Browning was an honorable-mention outfielder and junior Andrew Harrison was named an honorable-mention utility player.
Champion finished the year at 31-9 overall and won the district title with a 12-2 record. They tied with Smithson Valley at 12-2, but the Chargers swept the Rangers to take first place.
After going to the state baseball tournament last year for the first time in school history, Champion was hoping for a repeat but were stopped in the third round by district foe Kerrville Tivy.
The Chargers swept Buda Hays in the first round, and sacked Mac in three games in the second round. Champion advanced to the third round where they won the first game against Kerrville Tivy but struggled offensively and dropped the next two after they only scored 3 runs in 3 games against the Antlers.
