Art Waddle is Boerne’s premier community art show and sale. It is a festive outdoor event held in downtown Boerne on May 13-14.

Artists of every medium are encouraged to participate in the Art Waddle. We accept painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, poetry, performance, music, writing or any new art form that you may have invented. Discount provided for early bird registration by April 14.

Artists registered for the event are encouraged to participate in the featured artist reception, taking place this year at Tusculum Brewing Company. This year’s featured artist is Katrina Gorman, whose work can be viewed at Carriage House Gallery here in Boerne.

The Art Waddle is part of Boerne’s commitment to the arts and features festival art in many mediums, created by experienced and novice artists alike. It is also part of the trend toward fun and an informal celebration of painting, sculpture, glassworks and more. People stroll Main Street at their own pace, visiting with artists, making new friends and enjoying the day and perhaps enjoying a refreshment offered by one of our breweries or restaurants.

The Waddle was created in the “Flats,” one of Boerne’s unique neighborhoods. Over the last decade, the Art Waddle’s growth and success has shifted the location of the event to the downtown historical shopping district, our Hill Country Mile, and along the Cibolo Creek Trail.

The Waddle is an event that celebrates the “creatives” of Boerne and the Hill Country. Named after the ducks that populate Boerne’s Cibolo Creek, the Art Waddle is organized by the Hill Country Council for the Arts and Events Off Main. Proceeds are donated to the Cibolo Center for Conservation for its summer art camp scholarships.

There are no fees to “Waddle.” However, “Waddlers” can purchase $5 wristbands at one of the two Waddle Stop information booths that offer discounts for purchases of art, food, beverages and savings on items purchased from participating merchants.

Refer to www.boerneartwaddle.com for information pertinent to artists registration, vendor applications and Waddlers in general.
