City selects new library director

Natalie Shults has been named the new director of Boerne’s Patrick Heath Public Library.

Shults, director of the Tye Preston Memorial Library in Canyon Lake for the past two years, begins her duties Monday.

The library’s Natalie Morgan has served as interim library director since Kelly Skovjberg, director for the past 22 years, retired in April.

Shults previously worked at the Schertz Public Library as their virtual services librarian, responsible for the management and implementation of the library’s digital services and programming.

She received her master’s degree in library and information studies from Florida State University. She said her enthusiasm stems from “taking great pride in recognizing the wide spectrum of patron needs and then addressing them in the best way possible.”
